The ET3 is a high-end, more focused member of Shanling's top-loading CD player range, which pairs perfectly as a dedicated CD transport with high-end DAC (digital-to-analogue converter) devices. To use the ET3, a DAC must be included in the potential system. At the heart of the device are several high-performance components, such as the dual-core Ingenic X2000 chip for low latency, the CT7302CL DSD and PCM upscaler, and the Philips SAA7824 servo and Sanyo HD850 CD drive for stable playback. In addition to USB-A input and output, the ET3 offers I2S, AES/EBU, Optical and COAX outputs, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is available, supporting aptX, aptX HD and LDAC codecs. Dual-band WiFi supports DLNA and AirPlay protocols, and the free Eddict Player app helps you control and stream music remotely. The ET3 is the same size as the EH3 DAC and headphone amplifier, and is equipped with a 320x290 pixel IPS LCD display. The aluminium housing of the player has a removable cover made of tinted tempered glass. The package also includes a power cable and a remote control.

The ET3 has been designed in conjunction with the EH3 DAC and headphone amplifier, which together meet the highest CD and MQA-CD listening requirements via the I2S connection.
