The Gustard X16 D/A (digital to analogue) converter uses ESS's latest ES9068AS chip, which can directly process the digital signal at hardware level for SPDIF and I2S inputs. Using the XMOS XU216 chip, it supports 32bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 resolutions, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and support for LDAC, AAC, SBC, APTX audio codes. A CPLD programmable logic chip controls the digital circuitry and provides accurate clocking.
