Shanling's focus for the past 30 years has been CD players, from affordable models to high-end models. The EC3 is a compact yet powerful CD player, ideal for use in any desktop system, on top of a rack. Built on the proven Philips CD80 drive mechanism and Sanyo HD850 laser head, it is a top-loading CD player with a transparent cover. It features digital outputs in the form of coaxial and optical SPDIF for easy connection to external DACs or receivers. It also features a dedicated audio circuit using ESS ES9219C DAC and LTA8092 op-amp via 3.5mm headphone output or RCA, and can be used as a preamplifier.

But the EC3 is not just a CD player. It uses the Ingenic X2000 platform, plus a handy 1.6" screen that provides additional settings and functions directly to the player. It can also be used as a Bluetooth DAC or Hi-Res music player by connecting any USB drive, and can be controlled via Shanling's free Eddict Player app. The EC3 is sized to fit Shanling's EM4 and EA5 steramers and is available in black and silver. A remote controller is included in the package.
