The Topping D50s is the direct evolution of the D50, a proven DAC that many customers and audiophiles especially appreciate. While this new model is largely based on the design and architecture of its little brother, the main development is in connectivity, as D50s now offer Bluetooth support. The device can now be controlled by remote control and its sound performance has been increased.
The D50s is Hi-Res certified, you can enjoy Hi-Res Wireless quality, and support for the Sony LDAC transmission protocol, ensuring the best performance in terms of bit rate, stability and sampling rate supported via Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth 5.0 connection of the device is performed by the CRS8675 chip that supports LDAC, AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX LL and aptX-HD protocols
. The Bluetooth stream is decoded by the DAC ES9038Q2M. Bluetooth can be turned off in D50s menus.
The D50s is one of the best devices on the market for high-quality rendering and advanced audio experience. Thus, the core of the device consists of two parallel ESS ES9038Q2M conversion chips, so each channel receives the detailed signal and is processed accurately. In addition, these chips, combined with other components of the device, allow D50s to support high sampling frequencies, up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, DSD512 and DoP64 .
USB interface, D50s uses an excellent second generation XMOS XU208 XMOS chip. The brand is famous for the performance of its components, ensuring accurate and rich reproduction. In addition, this interface allows support for USB input on D50s up to 32-bit PCM 768kHz and DSD512 files.
D50s comes with Thesycon Windows-optimized drivers that better support native DSD > >< <.
The D50s also has two OPA1612 SoundPlus operating amplifiers and a TI LME49720 that make up the device's low-pass filter. These OEEs deliver excellent performance and lossless signal transmission. The LME49720 operation amplifier is mounted on a DIP8 socket and is therefore easy to replace to change the sound of the device.
All components of the D50s are integrated into a beautifully machined and robust aluminium case. In addition to its modern appearance, it has very good mechanical properties and greatly limits the impact of interference on D50s circuits.
Connection side, Topping's D50s offer a full panel to adapt to the vast majority of uses. On the input side, it also includes the coaxial, optical, USB connector, as well as the Bluetooth external antenna connector. On the output side, the device has stereo RCA connectivity.
The D50s DAC also offers adjustable volume. Therefore, it can act as a DAC combo + preamplifier and can be connected directly to an amplifier or active speakers.
The Topping D50s supports OTG. Therefore, you have the option to connect a compatible smartphone or Android tablet to play audio files directly. For iOS devices, camera adapter lightning to USB should be used.
The front panel of the D50s has two unique buttons to control all functions of the device. The first is a simple push button, the second is a four-way joystick. The device is also supplied with an infrared remote control, which allows remote control.
