NEUTRINO COLORCUBE STEREO AMPLIFIER - Desktop Class D stereo amplifier
Neutrino Colorcube stereo amplifier built with 2x250W Hypex NC252MP amplifier module. The outstanding performance and low distortion are the result of excellent build quality and carefully selected components. Colorcube amplifiers are available in a range of output, connector and switch variations.
OPTIONS EXPLAINED:
XLR+RCA, trigger (AUD1624-COLORCUBE-S250-XT)
XLR+RCA ........ this means that there are two female input connectors on the back panel of the amplifier: XLR and RCA. There is a two-way microswitch between them, with which you can choose whether you want to use XLR (balanced) or RCA (unbalanced) input.
Trigger ........ this means that there is a 2-way switch on the back panel near the 230V socket that selects the always supply voltage or turns on the 12V starting voltage from another source or preamplifier.
INPUT SENSITIVITY, trigger (AUD1625-COLORCUBE-S250-IT)
INPUT SENSITIVITY ........ this means that there are two input connectors on the back panel of the amplifier: XLR and RCA. There is a two-way microswitch between them, with which you can choose whether you want to use XLR (balanced) or RCA (unbalanced) input. In addition, there is a 10-position microswitch with 10 positions for selecting maximum input voltage . With different positions of the 10-way switch, we change the gain of the input buffer of the Hypex amplifier. In this way, the input sensitivity circuit does not affect the sound at all. Preamplifiers of different brands have different maximum output voltages. Preamplifiers with different maximum output voltages: 2V, 3V, 4.0V, 4.2V, 4.5V, 4.8V, 5.0V, 5.2V, 6.0V, 7.8V, can be used.
Setting the maximum output voltage of the preamplifier with the maximum input voltage of the amplifier is important to avoid the following negative scenarios:
- If the maximum voltage of the preamplifier is higher than the maximum input voltage of the amplifier, a cutting problem will appear in the amplifier.
- at a preamplifier maximum output voltage that is smaller than the maximum input voltage of the amplifier, the amplifier does not operate in the optimal power range, resulting in higher THD+N and IMD. THD+N and IMD are generally lower for higher performance.
Trigger ........ this means that there is a 2-way switch on the back panel with a nearly 230V socket that selects whether to always be powered on or to turn on with a starting voltage of 5-12V from another source or preamplifier.
XLR+RCA, auto on/off (AUD1627-COLORCUBE-S250-XA)
XLR+RCA ........ this means that there are two female input connectors on the back panel of the amplifier: XLR and RCA. There is a two-way microswitch between them, with which you can choose whether you want to use XLR (balanced) or RCA (unbalanced) input.
Automatic on/off ..... this means that there is a 3-way microswitch on the rear panel with a socket close to 230V, with which you can choose: 1) always on power, 2) switching on with trigger through 5-12V. 3.5mm jack or 3) auto-on when an audio signal appears at the input, and auto-off when the audio signal disappears at the input.
INPUT SENSITIVITY, Auto On/Off (AUD1628-COLORCUBE-S250-IA)
