MUSICIAN PHOENIX
HIGH-END QUALITY DDC
DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING AT HIGHEST LEVEL
Musician Audio Phoenix makes the most of the signal coming from your digital players via USB, AES/EBU, optical or coaxial SPDIF connections. It uses its own OCXO preheated and thermally controlled crystal clock signal generator to re-clock the signal and send the re-coded signal to D/A converters via AES/EBU, coaxial and optical SPDIF or I2S outputs.
Its special input design electrically isolates the devices, preventing electrical noise from passing between them. The Musician Phoenix can also receive external clock signals via BNC connectors. In size and appearance, it is a perfect match for Musician Audio's products, most notably the Aquarius D/A converter.
With USB connection it can handle up to 768 kHz PCM and DSD512 resolutions. LINUX and MAC systems are automatically handled, for Windows a custom developed Thesycon driver software can be downloaded from the manufacturer's site. The linear power supply, based on a monocrystalline copper wire wound toroidal transformer, provides external circuitry to the audio and control units of the unit for low distortion and signal-to-noise levels. (Power cable not included!)

Optimized power supply
Musician Phoenix's power supply takes the same care as audio circuits, in order to get a clear and stable electrical signal. It includes an O-Type transformer made of high-quality monocrystalline copper wire.
Patented USB interface
Phoenix's USB-B input is paired with a patented high-end USB interface based on a patented MCU+FPU STM32F446 chip. It supports high-resolution audio streams, allowing you to play PCM files up to 24-bit 768 kHz and DSD512.
Altera Cyclone IV FPGA
Musician Phoenix has a powerful Altera Cyclone IV EP4CE22 FPGA at its heart. Its task is to process and redistribute data signals in various audio circuits, while ensuring a very low level of distortion.
Digital isolation
The phoenix digital signal is completely disconnected using a high-speed 50 Mbps optical interface. This technology significantly reduces the noise level and thus achieves an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
OCXO SC Cut Clock
The Musician Phoenix watch system uses two constant-temperature OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator) SC Cut oscillators that provide extremely low noise levels. Oscillators of this type use a thermostatic bath to maintain the temperature of the quartz crayon at a constant temperature and thus minimize frequency changes in the output of the oscillator.
Full connection
Musician Phoenix in particular offers a full connectivity option, both input and output, that suits most needs. Thus, the device offers USB-B, AES/EBU, coaxial, optical Toslink and two external clock inputs. For outputs, Phoenix offers AES/EBU, I2S HDMI and RJ45, as well as Toslink optical and coaxial technology.
