SHANLING SCD1.3
Desktop SACD Player, DAC Headphone Amplifier, and Streamer
The SCD1.3 not only shines as a High-End DAC (digital-analog converter) and player, but also as an advanced, high-end, multifunctional device introduced by Shanling. Its tuning is based on Shanling's flagship portable player, the M9 Plus, with an AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, along with the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It offers an extremely detailed and vast soundstage with a precise sound profile, while also imparting a pleasant warmth and smoothness typical of classic Shanling sound. With extremely precise volume control and the MUSES8920 functioning as a preamp, the SCD1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, enabling a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. It uses the MediaTek ME1389EE system alongside the Sanyo HD870 laser tray mechanism, which takes full advantage of high-resolution SACD disc capabilities, while also handling traditional CDs excellently. For hybrid SACD discs, a separate button aids in the easy switch between SACD and CD layers.
Beyond CD format playback, it offers numerous options, including Bluetooth functionality, a USB-A U-Disk port, and network support for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay via WiFi. Through Bluetooth 5 connectivity, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are available, and the free Eddict Player app allows for easy remote control of the device. Along with USB-B, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, there are also I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, making the SCD1.3 integrable into almost any sound system.
The SCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum housing, featuring a 5" M-Touch touchscreen, available in black and silver colors. A far superior performance for lossless music listening, not just for collectors.
