UBTECH UKIT EXPLORE
Programmable high level robot building kit
NOT JUST ANOTHER QUALITY BUILDING TOY
The uKit "Explorer" version kit offers endless possibilities and challenges for young engineering and programming aspirants. Developed for IT-savvy secondary school classes and vocational courses, the robotics kit integrates students' mechanical, electronic and programming skills using a high-tech, even human-like robot. The uKit advanced kit encourages students to be creative, solution-oriented and independent thinkers.
This member of the uKit family is designed for education and quizzes. Explore is a product that bridges the gap between game and project-based learning and graphical and script-based programming.
Through uKit Explore, students can gain knowledge through skill development of:
- Circuits, open source hardware,
- programming,
- computer science, and solving practical problems using the knowledge gained through hands-on experience.
MAIN FEATURES
The open source Arduino interface, which is very rich in resources
The expansion board provides multiple sensor modules and peripheral access:
- Independent sensor module design;
- Compatible with other uKit component modules, making uKit products fully interoperable;
- C/C++/Blockly programming support, to meet the needs of users at different levels;
- Support for tutorials, simple and quick start, easy learning.
Arduino based controller:
The kit comes with a special control panel equipped with an open source Arduino platform, providing an "infinite" sensor type and programming learning resource, due to Arduino support.
The Arduino was originally designed for non-electronic engineering students.
Initially, the designers decided to create their own microcontroller development boards, thus creating a cheap to produce and easy to use solution.
Arduino has been warmly welcomed by electronics enthusiasts worldwide. The secret to its success is its open source, affordable price and simple understandability. Arduino makes it easy for users less familiar with programming to create exciting and interesting features such as sensors, flashing lights and motor control.
UKit Explore is an open source tool that is fully compatible with Arduino.
Description of the control panel:
The control panel is an open source hardware platform developed specifically for uKit building blocks. It is compatible with Arduino Mega 2560 and supports C/C++ and Blockly programming languages.
It can be used to control the uKit control panel, motherboard buzzer, RGB light, buttons, gyroscope and other devices. Since the built-in Li-ion battery can be charged via USB, you can run presentations that require less operating time anywhere, for example, making your project completely mobile.
In addition, the uKit Explore control panel has a wide range of peripherals such as ADC, I2C, I2S, SPI, UART and other methods compatible with Arduino IDE programming or compatible with uKit Explore's graphics programming software.
Multifunction servo:
The servo serves as the "joint" of the robot and can be used to perform various combinations of movements. The amount of rotation of its axis is controlled by an electric circuit and it reaches the selected angle with an accuracy of 1 degree in up to 0.2 seconds.
Modules:
The Explore Kit supports your future projects with a wide and colourful range of modules: RGB LED illumination, Bluetooth speaker, touch sensor, two-position master switch, infrared and ultrasonic proximity sensors and colour sensor.
