The SCD1.3 shines not just as a High-End DAC (digital-analog converter) and player; Shanling introduces an advanced, high-end, multifunctional device. Its tuning is based on Shanling's flagship portable player, the M9 Plus, with the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ DAC chip combo, coupled with the XMOS XU316 USB interface and TPA6120 headphone amplification. It offers an extremely detailed and vast soundstage with precise audio reproduction, while also providing a pleasant warmth and smoothness characteristic of the classic Shanling sound. With extremely accurate volume control and the MUSES8920 preamp, the SCD1.3 can be directly paired with power amplifiers or active speakers, enabling a simple and high-quality 2-channel speaker setup. It utilizes the MediaTek ME1389EE system alongside the Sanyo HD870 laser tray mechanism to fully exploit the capabilities of high-resolution SACD discs, while also brilliantly handling traditional CDs. A dedicated button aids in easily switching between the SACD and CD layers on hybrid SACD discs.
Beyond playing CD formats, it offers numerous options including Bluetooth functionality, a USB-A U-Disk port, as well as WiFi support for NAS, DLNA, and AirPlay networks. Through Bluetooth 5 connection, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC resolutions are accessible, and it can be easily controlled remotely via the free Eddict Player application. In addition to USB-B, the coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical inputs, it also features I2S HDMI, coaxial SPDIF, and Toslink optical digital outputs, as well as RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, making the SCD1.3 compatible with almost any audio system.
The SCD1.3 is built with a simple and elegant aluminum case, equipped with a 5" M-Touch touchscreen, and available in black and silver colors. It offers outstanding performance for lossless music listening, not only for collectors.
