I bought this headphone despite varying reviews. By piecing together information from many of the reviews, I finally felt sure enough that I would like the sound to get it.
I was amazed at what I heard when I first put them on. This just sounds right, from the lowest bass to the highest treble. I soon found Karajans Adagio CD and listened to Albinoni. I closed my eyes and found myself on the front row of Philharmonie Berlin. I could see that the rear violins sat higher than the front. I could clearly separate the violas from the cellos and oboes from the clarinettes. I have never heard such a believable double bass sound outside of a concert hall, not too much bass, not to little, just right. At the crescendo, when the organ opens up, I was allmost floored by the physical impact of the sound. I have never felt anything like that from any other headphone. I could see that the organ pipes was high above and behind the orchestra. A both wide, tall and deep stereo image. No reviewers said anything that could have prepared me for this!
Anther reference recording for me is Frank Sinatras old Only the lonely. I have never heard ths deep into Sinatras wonderful voice. Truly endeering. I could listen to this for days, I do not get tired of listening to this headphone, like with my others. I felt the same abot Diana kralls voice in Paris Live.
This is written after only two days, so the headpfone is not even burned in yet. So chances are that it will get even better. But I am completely satisfied if it stays the way it is now.
I use it with a powerful DAC amp called Audio GD NFB-15. This headphone incedibly requires high gain to come to life. The volume is not far from the same level as my 600 ohm Beyerdynamics. So prepare to mate it with a powerful amplifier if you want the best from it.
This one is definatly a keeper!
